First day we woke up at 330am to drive 3 hours to Byron Bay to see the sunrise. I was fighting super hard to keep my eyes open and from rolling off the driver seat. And the drive there was this whole long and straight expressway that had no streetlights so I could only switch on the high beam to light up the road in front. It was about 6am when dawn arrived and the sky was bright that I panicked a lil because I thought the sun had risen without us arriving at Byron Bay! Luckily we realised that the sun hasn't risen so I sped up a lil bit more to rush to Byron Bay.
Upon reaching Byron Bay we walked up to the lighthouse where it was the best view of the sunrise you could get. The Byron Bay lighthouse :
The road leading up to the Byron Bay lighthouse.
Sun still hidden under the horizon
Too bad the sun was hidden behind the clouds!!!
The wind at Byron Bay was soooooo chilling but soooooo good! I wish i could stay there for an entire day with a book/ magazine, a hot chocolate and a warm furry sweater.
Dropped by a cafe around the Byron Bay district for brekkie and another cuppa after the sunrise. Pretty cute name for a cafe - sounds like us actually - wahahah.
After lunch we drove on to Nightcap National Park about 1-2 hours away.
Highlight of the park was Minyon Falls, as recommended by the travel guide.
